Love Grant Wood's landscapes!   Just a nod to his style in this one...

Gromet

just for fun...... been sketching various robot characters.
Liked the leather cap on this one.

Garden View

... with a nod to Henri Rousseau :)

360 scene

Well, it'd be nice if blogspot accepted .swf's to upload, but they don't....so I'll just have to show you a section of this little scenic layout. It's part of a file with code that allows you to scroll left or right in a complete circle. F'reals! I'm not kidding! Ha! But you'll just have to take my word for it! ;)

Binkie

Because we all need a hug now and then...

Naughty 'bot

Wow!   only 1/2 a year gone by!  Gee...might be time for a post, ya think?

So...not sure what sparked this idea. We were messing around with some robots and gears on another project, and I just decided to build one for fun, but why the paint thing? Maybe he was just a little too clean... had to add some goop to the scene?

Just for fun...

Another art challenge,  to do a caricature of yourself/ your interests.  Maybe I should've added a few more arms to include Ping-pong, music, books, etc.  Oh well....

bad puppy

assignment:  draw monster.  Left to my unchecked imagination... this is what popped into my head.  Hmmm

Hmm....nothing deep.
Just felt like putting a face on an inanimate object.
I think I'll probably do more, just fo' fun!
Besides, Amber's yelling at me to post more often!
Sheeeesh!!

Hansel_n_Gretel

Another art "challenge" with the title theme.  Took too long tweeking this, but had fun with it even so.

Green Eggs & Spam

Trying to update my blog to the have the new, easier to use Google UI, but can't figure it out yet.  Not giving up tho'!   Guess that's what happens when you take a year off from posting!  Things change!  In the mean time, Here's a new post from a "green eggs" themed art challenge.  I'd be worried too, if my egg glowed like that!  blaaaghh!

Monkey Brain

good grief! I completely missed my April post! What happened.....this one was even waiting in the queue! Hmmm..... guess you have to push....'post'. (ha) Don't ask me what's the profound thought behind this illustration. It just came out of the end of my pen... I don't ask questions.

Into the Woods

This is what I added...... (see Amber's link to see what she added!)

the background

Another "just for fun" project where we all started with an old illustration for the background and then added to it with our own ideas. It's always interesting to try to imitate another artist's style and see if it "works"... This is the background we started with (unfortunately, I don't know the artist.)

Dancin' Fool

...and brought the crazy thing to final. Inspiration? Eh, just too many years of watching WB cartoons.

rough sketch

it started with this....just whatever poured out of my head at the time.....

Crazy Chameleon

Wow..... such a long break since the last posting! I'd like to blame it on the holidays....starting with Halloween and going through New Years, but in fact, family matters took presidence at the end of the year. Hope to do better in 2007!

Seuss-like?

The theme is "a Dr. Seuss, a birdlike creature."
(Forgive me, Theodor.)

McGoo Background

this is based on a sketch from the archives of the Mr. McGoo cartoon. I took a few liberties but otherwise kept fairly true to the sketch. Just added some color.
